Release Notes

This is the first release of the OData provider. The provider presently supports the following provider cmdlets for OData feeds:
  • get-childitem (for collections)
  • get-item (for collections and entries)
  • get-location
  • set-location
  • get-content (for entities with media content)

For details on using these cmdlets against an OData feed, see the Documentation.

This release is distributed as a ZIP archive. Proper installation of the OData module is a two step process:
  1. download and unblock the archive
  2. extract the archive to your module path

Download and Unblock the Archive

The archive can be downloaded from the link above.

Once the archive is on your local machine, you can unblock the archive using one of the following methods:
  • Right-click the archive, select Properties, and click Unblock
or, if you're running PowerShell 3:
  • Open a shell and set-location to the path of the folder containing the archive, then run the command:
ls -rec | unblock-file

Extracting the Module to your Module Path

To make use of this module simply extract the OData folder to a location that is in your module path. For instance, your ~/Documents/WindowsPowerShell/Modules folder. For a list of module paths for your PowerShell session, try this:

PS> $env:psmodulepath

Once the OData folder is in your module path, you can verify that the module is available by running this command:

PS> get-module -list OData

ModuleType Name ExportedCommands
---------- ---- ----------------
Manifest   OData {}

  • 01.12.2013 added instructions for unblocking module archive before extracting
  • 02.02.2012: fixed issue with referenced CLR4 framework in OData module.
